The Idea Behind Lunch Box Love Notes
“Back in the day”, when my kids were little you couldn’t buy cards to put in your kid’s lunches at Hallmark and the internet didn’t have any to download yet.
I made my own on my computer and printed them off or put post it notes with little jokes or sayings on different items in their lunch. The principal thought it was such a good idea that he sent a newsletter home to all the parents encouraging them to do the same thing. (I also put a placemat in their lunch box for their food when they ate – he recommended everyone do that, too.)
Lots of kids miss their parents while they’re at school. Sending a little love note in their lunch can remind them that you are thinking of them when they’re away. It helps them feel connected, so its easier for them to continue with their day.
