White Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate

This recipe is for a regular hot chocolate with the pumpkin spice touch.

If you want, you can substitute white chocolate chips for the cocoa, and use less pumpkin puree for a white pumpkin spice hot chocolate.

Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate

Gorgeous pumpkin spice hot chocolate that can also be a white chocolate pumpkin spice drink.


Units Scale
  • 1 c whole milk
  • 1/4 c cream
  • 1 tsp unsweetened dark cocoa powder
  • 1/4 c pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp maple syrup ((or 1 Tbsp sugar))
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • dollop whipped cream (optional)
  • cinnamon stick (optional)


  1. Add all ingredients except vanilla to a large saucepan.

  2. Heat over medium-low heat, whisking continually until smooth.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

  4. Serve in a large mug. Top with whipped cream. Sprinkle a little pumpkin pie spice on top and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
