American Buttermilk Pancakes
Classic recipe, just like mom used to make on weekends.
- 2 c flour
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1¾ c buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
Preheat a lightly oiled griddle to medium-high heat.
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Make a hole in the middle of the mound.
In a separate bowl mix egg, buttermilk and oil. Pour milk mixture into flour mixture. Mix until moistened but not lumpy.
Pour or scoop the batter onto the hot griddle. When batter appears to “bubble”, let it cook a few seconds then flip over and brown the other side.
